Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take requests?
Yes- if the song is in our repertoire we will gladly oblige. If there is a particular song you want at your event, let us know in advance and we will play it for you.
Will we need to provide any equipment?
No. All we require is a power source.
What will you wear?
Smart-casual or suits at your discretion.
How long do you play for?
Typically, we play 3 hours within a four hour period, usually between 8-12pm. However we are extremely flexible and can negotiate time variations to suit your event.
Will you play outside?
Yes, as long as we are adequately protected from the elements (including sunshine) and it is safe to do so. e.g power sources are protected, level surfaces etc.
How much will it cost?
Fees vary and are primarily dependant on how long you would like us to play for and where the venue is. Contact us for more information and we can discuss a quote to suit your needs. If you are emailing us please supply date and venue location details.
How long does it take you to set up?
Set up time may vary depending on the venue but generally it takes between 40-50 minutes.
Can we watch the Vinyls performing live?
Yes you can! We regularly do gigs at Finnegans Wake in Edinburgh. You can check the dates of the live gigs on the MFS website .
Do you perform at showcases?
Yes. You can view all the upcoming showcases on the MFS wedding band showcases site.
Do The Vinyls only play functions and events in Scotland?
Whilst The Vinyls are a Scottish wedding band, they also perform at weddings and events all over the U.K. Depending on where your event is ,additional travel time, expenses and overnight accommodation may have to be factored in the price for the band. The band is based in Edinburgh so for events in Glasgow, Stirling, Fife etc our standard rate will apply.
Can we book the Vinyls directly?
Unfortunately not. We work exclusively for the premier live music agency Music For Scotland. We passionately believe that this agency offers the best wedding bands Edinburgh and Glasgow can offer. We feel Music for Scotland offers a great deal for both musicians and clients alike and so we are happy for all our bookings to go through them.
